How did you and your family decide that Salem Academy was right for you?

Salem Academy had a family tradition tag attached to it; both my sisters paved the way before me. Also, I had the rare opportunity to be there with both my sisters! Despite my initial jitters about leaving home, Salem quickly became my new home!

What’s one thing about Salem Academy that you would like everyone to know?

Salem is truly a unique place. Salem provided a foundation for my future, both academically and personally.

How does the Academy’s STEAM focus prepare students for college and careers?

Even though STEM or STEAM wasn’t yet a “thing” when I went to Salem, I think Salem organically gravitated towards it with the curriculum. There is a focus on critical thinking skills, which are important in any career or life situation!

What would be your recommendation to a student who is considering studying at Salem Academy, but can’t decide if she wants to attend?

I get it—leaving your comfort zone is nerve-wracking. But think about what really matters to you. Salem’s more than just books and exams; it’s a close-knit family and a safe place to grow into your own.

What’s your favorite memory of Salem Academy outside the classroom?

Oh, the antics we got up to! From after-class shenanigans to heart-to-hearts with friends, those moments were the real gems of my time at Salem. I cherished being able to spend so much time with my friends and sisters, goof around, confide in each other, and be myself.

Do you think Salem Academy prepared you for college, a career, and life?

Undoubtedly. I think Salem really prepares you to be well-rounded. Salem not only provided a seamless transition to college, but also instilled essential life skills such as independence, time management, and the art of fostering meaningful relationships.
