Limited Term Custodian

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Operations, as an essential employee, the Limited Term Custodian reports directly to the Assistant Director of Facilities.  Custodians commonly provide routine cleaning, project cleaning, setups for functions, and any other duties assigned. Custodians must be physically able to perform tasks appropriately.

 

Residential Life Dormitory Floor Assistant

Salem Academy Dorm Assistants live in an all-female high school residential dorm setting and are responsible for the care, supervision, and well-being of residential students. Dorm Assistants provide a safe, secure, nurturing and structured dormitory experience for all boarding students. Dorm Assistants aid students in adjusting to, and managing independent living, encouraging academic progress and personal growth and promoting a familial atmosphere while maintaining safety and security within the dormitory.  Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the social, emotional, and academic needs of high school students is a must, as well as a strong desire to work with girls during their formative years. Through the support and guidance of Residential Life Team members, students leave Salem Academy equipped with the skills they need to thrive in college and beyond.

Gift Records and Database Manager

The Gift Records and Database Manager in the Office of Institutional Advancement is the primary point person for all gift processing and gift records for Salem Academy and College. The Manager creates and distributes appropriate financial reports on a regular schedule and works with the Finance Office to reconcile all gift records with those maintained by the Finance Office. This associate interacts daily with donors and institutional contacts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written are crucial. This position is a site-specific role, requiring daily attendance in the office.

Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Salem Academy and College is pleased to announce the opening of their search for their next Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic and forward-looking financial leader to help shape the future of one entity with two distinctive institutions with deeply rooted histories, ambitious aspirations, and a shared commitment to the education and advancement of girls and women. The CFO will have the rare opportunity to partner closely with institutional leadership in guiding both a nationally recognized girls’ academy and the nation’s only college exclusively dedicated to women’s health leadership, helping to position Salem for continued innovation, differentiation, and long-term success.

Athletic Van Driver

The Athletic Van Driver will drive Salem Academy and College Athletic teams to and from away games.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is appointed by the President and is directly responsible to the President for the strategy, planning, management, and coordination of all institutional development programs, including capital campaigns, special gifts, annual giving, deferred giving, prospect research, and alumnae engagement. The VPIA is responsible for leading, directing, and achieving the institution’s fundraising plan, and will work with the President to establish the institution’s vision for engagement and philanthropy.  The VPIA must be exceptional at building relationships with alumnae, donors, foundation and corporate philanthropies, and local leaders. The VPIA manages the advancement team and a portfolio of donors and brings a data focus to strategy, planning, operations, and assessment. The VPIA coordinates with the President and key Cabinet leaders on revenue projection and planning. The VPIA’s responsibilities extend to those duties stated below and all other duties assigned by the President.

Annual Giving Officer for Salem Academy and College - part-time (up to 30 hours per week)

The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives in annual giving. In collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy, the Annual Giving Officer will establish an annual plan based on constituent data to meet the fiscal year goals for the Academy Fund and the College Fund. This includes direct mail solicitations, email solicitation, giving day campaigns, crowdfunding and working with volunteers and gift officers on Reunion Class Giving. This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours).

Academy & College Assistant Track & Field Coach

Salem College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the USA South Athletic Conference, invites applications for the position of Assistant Track & Field Coach to assist with both Salem Academy and Salem College.  The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Track & Field Coach in all aspects of the women’s track & field program, including recruiting, athlete development, practice planning, meet preparation, and program operations.

The successful candidate will be passionate about coaching, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to a culture of academic achievement, personal growth, and competitive excellence.

Part-Time Public Safety Officer

The Part Time Public Safety Officer is an essential employee who reports directly to the Director of Public Safety and will be responsible for all security activities involving campus patrol, requests for service, opening/closing of facilities, responding to emergency calls, parking requests, and monitoring, and all other duties as assigned.  Typically this is a 3rd shift position.

Maintenance Technician II HVAC

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Operations, as an essential employee, the Maintenance Technician II HVAC reports directly to the Assistant Director of Facilities. The position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all types of commercial and residential HVAC-R equipment, monitoring automated control systems, changing filters and belts, cleaning drains, working with high and low-voltage wiring, working with control wiring, troubleshooting any HVAC-R equipment, working to establish a preventative maintenance schedule/system for all HVAC-R equipment.
