Salem Academy to Host Senior Vespers on December 7
Each December, the Salem Academy community gathers for Senior Vespers, a cherished Moravian Christmas tradition that has been passed down for centuries. This beloved tradition, led by our senior class, includes a Lovefeast and candlelighting ceremony. Seniors also lead the attendees in song, echoing hymns sung by generations of Salem students before them.
As the oldest continuously operating educational institution for girls and women in the country, Salem is rich with history. Our beloved Senior Vespers tradition not only celebrates the spirit of Salem Academy but also strengthens lifelong bonds among students, families, faculty, and alumnae across generations. This year’s Senior Vespers will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 5:00 p.m. in Shirley Recital Hall. Join us for an evening of community, reflection, and light!
