Salem Academy Hosts Spring Open House on April 14
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (APRIL 2, 2024)—The Admissions Office at Salem Academy will host a Spring Open House on Sunday, April 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. for prospective students and their families. Salem Academy is an all-girls day and boarding high school for grades nine through 12 located in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Open house attendees will tour Salem Academy’s historic campus, engage in conversations with current students and faculty, gain insights into academic offerings, athletics and fine arts programs, and the diverse array of clubs and organizations available to students.
“We look forward to meeting prospective students and their families at our upcoming open house and talking with them about some of the things that make Salem Academy distinctive and special,” Salem Academy Head of School Kris Porazzi Sorrells said.
Distinctive to Salem Academy, the Academy offers girls a place to thrive in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) focused learning environment.
STEAM is the interdisciplinary approach that teaches students to cultivate questions, analyze ideas, design solutions, and foster community around diverse ways of thinking and learning. The arts remain a critical component of Salem Academy’s STEAM curriculum.
“Through the Academy’s STEAM curriculum, students develop persistence, self-confidence, collaboration, and adaptability—skills that will help them succeed in work and in life,” Sorrells said.
The school also shares a campus with Salem College, the nation’s only liberal arts college dedicated to elevating and expanding women’s roles in health leadership. Being on a college campus, students at the Academy may take college-level classes at Salem College.
Salem Academy’s Spring Open House is free to attend, but registration is required by visiting salemacademy.com/admission/visit.
