Dalton, Maddrey And Monroe Join Salem Academy

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (SEPTEMBER 20, 2022)—Salem Academy—the only all-girls, boarding and day high school located on a college campus with a STEAM focus in the United States—has added three team members to its residence life staff. Denise Dalton is the new director of residential life and dance instructor, Emma Maddrey A’18 is assistant director of residential life and Marerika Monroe is the area coordinator for the residence life department.

Dalton comes to Salem Academy with 20 years of experience at Mercersburg Academy, a private boarding school in rural Pennsylvania. There, she served as founding director of dance, duty dean, dorm and faculty advisor and faculty council member. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree in dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is certified in mindfulness-based stress reduction.

Maddrey is a Salem Academy graduate from the Class of 2018. While at Salem, she served as house council president and as a resident assistant. After graduating from Salem Academy, Maddrey went to Appalachian State University where she majored in exercise science with a minor in health care management.

Monroe recently graduated from William Peace University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre. While at Peace, she performed in many local theaters and also worked as a Student Admissions Ambassador, Alumni Office Assistant and Orientation Leader.
