Balancing High Quality With Affordability

Educating girls since 1772, Salem Academy continues to provide an education in which every student will be challenged, supported, and affirmed in becoming the best version of herself. This is Salem’s vision for EVERY student.

To ensure that a Salem Academy education is accessible and affordable for every interested and qualified student, Salem Academy offers merit-based scholarships, financial aid and a personalized tuition model.

Tuition is Not a One-Size-Fits-All Model at Salem

Salem Academy recognizes that careers are significant in many ways beyond what the financial reward may be. To ensure that Salem is accessible and affordable for those who have chosen careers whose primary reward may not be financial, we offer a personalized approach to tuition. Under our Indexed Tuition model, tuition rates are customized according to each family’s ability to contribute to their educational expenses.

There are many factors that are taken into consideration for qualifying families, including availability of Salem Academy funds and enrollment needs. Salem uses SSS/TADS, an independent school tuition management service, which evaluates a family’s ability to pay, including such factors as family size, number of children attending schools that charge tuition, and assets/ liabilities that are not reflected in household income.

Scholarships

Students can apply for Salem’s scholarships when they apply for admission.  These scholarships are renewable for the duration of their enrollment at Salem as long as they meet requirements.

NCSEAA Opportunity Scholarship

Salem Academy students from North Carolina may be eligible for a grant from the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority’s (“NCSEAA”) Opportunity Scholarship program. The program expands school choice in North Carolina by awarding scholarship grants up to $7,200 per year. The application opens on February 1 with a priority deadline of March 1. The award is renewable for all 4 years.
